About Luis Crespo  Luis has been teaching as well as dancing competitively, for the past 10 years. Specializing in Ballroom, Latin, and of course, West Coast Swing, Luis is known for his smooth style and musicality. He was born and raised in New York, where he received traditional Ballroom training from the Fred Astaire Franchise in upper Manhattan. Luis states, “I was drawn to West Coast Swing when I realized the dance was all about the musicality and connection between partners, rather than just successfully executing patters.” Luis is a national competitor in West Cost Swing, and has won several awards and placements in the Champions, All Star, and Invitational divisions of Jack and Jill, Classic, and Strictly Swing competitions at numerous dance events across the country. Luis’s philosophy… “If you’re not dancing, you’re wasting your feet!”

3:30 pm   Registration and Open Dancing

4:00 pm   West Coast Swing Fundamentals  Whether you are just starting out in West Coast Swing, or you have been dancing for years, this class will improve your basics! Cleaning up your “basic” moves is what will make your dancing look and feel the best it can be! Learn to “dance” the basics instead of walking through them. This intense focus on, body position, connection with your partner, and connection with the music will really up your West Coast Game! ** Appropriate for all levels.

5:15 pm   It’s All About The Music! Cool Moves for Him AND Her!  Musicality… We’ve all heard of it and can recognize it when it happens. Learn how to dance to the music. This workshop will cover invitation leads, extending counts, and “playing” without interrupting connection with your partner or compromising your timing. Leaders and followers will get some cool new moves to add to their dancing repertoire!

6:15 pm   Dinner Break and Open Dancing

7:00 pm   Smooth West Coast Swing… Social Moves That Really Work!  Are you getting bored with the same old patterns? Learn some fun new social dance moves to put on the floor! Practice give and take with your partner and get some new ideas for what to do when a break hits. These cool social moves will help make you competition and social dance ready! **Dancers should have the ability to complete the basic WCS moves.

8:00 pm   Open Dancing,Just for Fun Jack and Jill Thanks for bringing snacks to share!
